Changelog

The biggest upgrade to Maestri Floors yet: a whole team, working in parallel, without stepping on each other.

Floors now follow your code onto SSH, Docker and custom runtime workspaces on Linux and Mac, they're real git worktrees, and they speak pull requests from start to finish: open one from a floor, follow it all the way to the merge, or review anyone's on a floor of its own.

• Agent Usage on Your Phone

Maestri Remote shows the plan rings in a corner of the canvas, with the details in a sheet, and can hide or move them in Settings.

• Design Mode Prompts Take Attachments

Any file by paperclip, drop, or paste, riding with the prompt to the agent.

• Maestri Chat

Every terminal now has a chat face, so you talk to your agent in a conversation instead of the raw shell. Replies arrive as formatted text with diagrams, tables and images, you can attach files and drag them back out onto the canvas, mention another agent by name, and watch the shell work behind the conversation while a turn runs. Each terminal keeps seven colored threads, and every conversation survives a relaunch and travels with the terminal.

• Search Chats

Batuta Search now looks inside every Maestri Chat thread, on every terminal, across all your workspaces and floors. Pick a result and Maestri takes you to it, switching workspace and floor, raising the terminal's chat face on the right thread, and putting the message in the middle of the screen with your term highlighted.

• Rename Workspaces from the CLI

The `maestri` CLI can rename a workspace.

• Maestri Remote connects faster when you are away from home or coming back to it: the phone now asks every address it knows at once and settles on the private one that answers, instead of waiting out the remembered Wi-Fi address first.
• Performance improvements on long threads in Maestri Chat.

• Maestri Chat on Your Phone

The same thread, live over your connection, in Maestri Remote.

• Agent Usage

Rings beside the floor indicator show how much of your plan is left on Claude, Codex and Antigravity, with reset times and your plan in the popover. Turn it on in Settings, under Agents.

• Connect Agents Across Workspaces

Wire an agent to one that lives in another workspace with the same Connect gesture, and address it as "Name @ Workspace". A Maestro can also recruit a teammate straight into another workspace.

• Mermaid Diagrams

Draw natively in notes and in chat, in the surface's own font and colors, and copy as an image, a diagram, or their source.

• Copyable Tables

Tables in notes and replies copy as real tables, and double-clicking a cell selects it so you can copy just that one.

• Copy a Portal's Picture

Right-clicking a portal copies a picture of what it is showing, a web page or a device screen alike.

• Improvements to canvas camera zoom and pan.
• Agent presets now carry an accent color and a terminal theme, on a new Appearance tab, and every way of creating an agent honors them. Maestri Remote can set a terminal's theme and its own font size as well.
• The main window title carries the name of the active workspace, so window managers and time trackers can tell your workspaces apart.
• Maestri Remote shows how many files changed beside a file tree card's branch, spins only the branch row you tapped, and filters files after `#` in the composer the way the Mac does.
• Color swatches can be reached with the keyboard and are announced by name, and the row lines up with everything else in the sheet.
• Shapes round further, all the way from a box to a capsule.

• Design Mode on Portals

Draw over a web page or a device simulator to select the part you mean, then send it to a connected agent as context to work from. Pick the new brush tool in the portal's toolbar to start.

• Large Pastes in the Prompt Composer

A big paste folds into a pill instead of filling the composer. Click it to unfold and edit the text in place.

• Media Preview in the File Tree

Open images, video, audio and PDFs in an editor tab, with playback controls.

• Notes from remote files: drag a text file out of a remote file tree onto the canvas to edit it as a note, saved back over the connection.
• Improved connection reliability for Maestri Remote while your Mac sleeps.
• Open in IDE now knows about VS Code Insiders.

• Maestri Wire

Now in beta, a new protocol that lets other devices and tools connect to your Mac and control Maestri. Pair a device from Settings → Wire with a QR code or a password, give it read-only or full control, and revoke it at any time. The first thing built on the Wire is Maestri Remote, the iPhone and iPad app, now in review for a public TestFlight. Stay tuned.

• More agents now come back where you left them when Maestri relaunches.

• Persistent Sessions

Keep an agent running inside tmux so it survives quitting Maestri or losing the connection, and reconnecting attaches to the same agent instead of starting a second one. Turn it on per SSH, Docker, Sandbox, or Custom Runtime connection, or run locally on the new Local (tmux) environment, and end a session at any time from the Processes popover.

• SSH Host Picker

The SSH sheet now reads the hosts out of your ~/.ssh/config, so picking one fills in the alias and keeps its ProxyJump and identity file applying.

• Descriptive text throughout settings and sheets is easier to read.

• Blur

Hides the contents of a note or terminal behind a faint icon until you click to restore it.

• Right-to-Left Terminal Rendering

Arabic and Hebrew text now renders right-to-left in the terminal.

• Fichário Page Locking

Lock individual pages filed in a fichário.

• Diff Nodes Follow Agent Edits

While deselected, diff nodes now expand and scroll to each file as the agent edits it.

• Faster terminal drawing for heavily colored and styled output.
• Crisper Powerline separators at any font size.
• A lifted terminal now stays lifted across workspace and floor switches and across relaunches.
• Note search now matches the note's name, not just its first line.
• Terminal apps now pick up a switch between light and dark more reliably.

• Fichários

Group notes into an elegant tabbed folder: reorder the pages, drag notes in, pull them back out onto the canvas. Agents can file their own connected notes into a Fichário too, unlocking task-based workflows the Maestri way.

• Switch nodes while lifted

With a node lifted you can now move straight to another one with ⌃⇥, or to a numbered terminal with ⌘1 through ⌘9.

• Preset fonts

An agent preset can pin its own terminal font, so every terminal it creates starts in that face.

• Bigger Quick Start

The terminal creation sheet now shows two rows of presets instead of one.

• Mention files with #

Type # in the prompt composer to open the file picker without going through the @ menu.

• Right-drag to pan

Turn on Right-drag to pan in Settings → General → Canvas, then hold the right button and drag to move the canvas.

• Reorder Floor hooks commands

Drag a command by its handle to change the order it runs in.

• Mention files from a remote machine

Type @ in the prompt composer of an SSH, Docker, or custom runtime terminal to browse and mention files from that machine, not just your Mac.

• Mute a portal

Right-click a browser portal and choose Mute to silence it.

• Dock a panel to the edge

Double-click a node to lift it to the center, then drag it to a screen edge to park it as a full-height column that stays put while the canvas pans and zooms underneath. Double-click again to send it back to its place on the canvas.

• Partitura contents

Leave elements out of a partitura before sharing or accepting it, or send the board with its notes blank, without carrying your file paths along.

• Colored mentions

A terminal mention now wears that terminal's color instead of the accent.

• Unload a floor

Right-click a floor in the overview to release its terminals and portals while the rest of the workspace keeps running.

• Software keyboard

Show or hide the iOS keyboard from the device portal toolbar.

• Command help

`maestri <command> --help` now explains the command and its flags.

• Cable ties

Option-drag a stroke across connection ropes to bundle them under a zip tie, which you can drag to re-seat the bundle or delete to let the ropes fall loose again.

• New Element Defaults

Right-click a terminal, note, or portal and adopt its current size, font, theme, or color as the default for everything you create next.

• Grab a note anywhere up top

The top band of a note now moves it, sized on screen so it stays easy to grab however far you zoom out.

• Portal size readout

Choose whether a portal shows its width and height never, only while resizing, or always, so you can see the exact width a layout breaks at.

• Lift and hover focus for file trees

File trees now expand into a centered panel and can be activated on hover, with a wide split layout when the editor pane is open.

• Lift

Double-click a note, terminal, or portal header to expand it into a centered panel for focused work, or bind a shortcut for it in Settings → Shortcuts.

• Floor clones in the background

Creating a floor with repository isolation now copies behind a progress pill, so you can keep working instead of waiting for it.

• Focus on hover

Optionally activate a terminal, note, or portal just by moving the pointer onto it, from Settings → Canvas.

• Partituras

Save a whole corner of your canvas — agents with their roles, notes, portals, drawings, and every rope between them — then drop it onto any floor or workspace, or send the file to a friend so they get your exact setup in one click.

• Remote file trees

Put a file tree node on an SSH host, Docker container, or Sandbox and work in it exactly as you would locally: list and icon modes, sorting, pinning, file management, the inline editor, content search, and git. One sheet picks both the folder and the environment, whether you're creating the tree or moving an existing one.

• Rendered markdown in the file editor

Markdown files open in the same live editor the sticky notes use, with headings, tables, checkboxes, and code blocks. Flip any tab between source and rendered, or set the default in Settings → File Editor.

• Prevent Sleep

Keep your Mac awake while agents are working so a long run doesn't stall when you walk away.

• Sessions survive unloads

Unloading a terminal or workspace hands off agent sessions the same way quitting does, so reloading picks up where you left off.

• Stable note names

Agents can pin a note's name with `maestri note create --name`, so it stays addressable no matter how the content changes.

• File mentions

Type `@` in Prompt Composer, choose `File…`, then search your project and attach a file to the prompt.

• Import Workspace

Open a shared `.maestri` archive from the File menu, review what's inside, then choose where it lands.

• Android portals

Typing, rotation, and press-and-hold gestures now work on Android devices.

• Smart Draw

Sketch freehand and the stroke snaps into a clean line, arrow, rectangle, diamond, triangle, ellipse, star, or heart the moment you lift the mouse.

• Shape library

A new grid of area shapes: hexagon, stadium, parallelogram, star, heart, x-box, check-box, block arrows, and a cloud that reflows its bumps as it resizes.

• Adjustable corners

Scrub any shape's corner radius from sharp to fully rounded.

• True solid fills

Solid Fill is now genuinely opaque instead of a light wash, and text inside stays readable.

• Brush

A pressure-style brush beside the pen, with strokes that thicken and taper as you draw.

• Find in terminal

Press ⌘F to search a focused terminal's output, with a match counter and next/previous.

• Element search

Jump to any element in the workspace with ⌥⌘E, across every workspace with ⇧⌥⌘E, or from the canvas right-click menu.

• File editor defaults

Pick the font, size, tab width, and line wrapping new file editors open with, in Settings → New Item Defaults.

• Composer stays put

The Prompt Composer no longer vanishes when you click elsewhere on the canvas, so you can drag a file out of a file tree straight into your draft.

• Resize cursors on shapes

Selection handles now show the matching resize arrow, rotated to follow a tilted shape.

• Delete shapes with ⌘W

The delete-element shortcut now clears selected drawings alongside terminals instead of leaving them behind.

• Smoother streaming

Terminals do far less layout work while an agent streams output.

• Docked Prompt Composer

⇧⌘P or the terminal toolbar cycles to a new Below placement that stays life-size under the terminal at any canvas zoom.

• Terminal padding

Set horizontal and vertical breathing room around terminal content in Settings → Terminal → Appearance.

• Stability

Fixed an issue that might cause the app to hang when interacting with terminal scrollbars.

• Maestri Device Portals

A device runtime built from scratch, so your agents drive real iOS and Android devices at native speed. Drop an iOS Simulator, Android emulator, or a plugged-in Android phone next to your agents on the canvas, connect it, and it just works. The portal draws the device's own display buffer straight to the GPU and sends input through the device's native input pipeline, so it stays smooth and instant instead of crawling through screenshots and shell commands, while agents read the running app's real element tree — true labels and exact positions — so a tap lands on the button rather than a guessed coordinate. Build your project, install it, launch it, tap, type, swipe, rotate, and screenshot, all in one place with no XCUITest, no Appium, and no extra tooling. Search and filter across every simulator, emulator, and phone you have, spin up a new simulator from a searchable model list, and start it all with a New Device Portal action right in the prompt composer.

• Smart Session Restore

Quitting used to mean losing every conversation in flight. A novel approach means it doesn't anymore: Maestri saves each agent's session on the way out and picks the conversation back up when you relaunch, whether you quit yourself or the app just updated. It works with the CLI you already use — Claude Code, Codex, opencode, and any other agent CLI that can resume — with nothing to configure. You can also require a confirmation on ⌘Q, so a stray keystroke doesn't stop your running agents.

• Meet Prompt Composer

Maestri blends TUIs and GUIs like never before with a new rich composer that floats over any terminal with Cmd+Shift+P. It's fully integrated with the canvas so you can mention connected agents, notes and more with unmatched UX.

• Maestri Environments

In addition to SSH you can now connect workspaces to Docker Containers and Sandboxes with first-class support.

• Maestro notifications

Maestro-enabled agents can now run `maestri notify` to send you a system notification when they truly need your attention. No more babysitting, just tell them to notify you when they finish.

• Maestro mode

Maestro-enabled agents can now see and manage all the connections on their recruits, and a new `--replace` flag lets them replace a recruit without dismissing it first.
